galorn test
Galorn are one of many participants in the 1970s/80 Breton folk scene. I've only heard the first album to date, but it's on the darker side of the genre. This isn't gather by the campfire and put-your-hands-together music. Rather these are musical representations of the mystical Dark Ages. The kind of sound that might keep you up all night if you're easily spooked. Violin, flute, acoustic guitar, hand percussion and bass make up the instrument palette, and the atmosphere is misty and haunting. The album cover itself gives a pretty good idea of the contents within.
And speaking of the album cover. At the time I write this, RYM has the cover for this album (1978) listed under the second album from 1980 (they have it as 1979). On the band page, they have a different cover. That one belongs to the 1980 album.

Piirpauke - Piirpauke {Finland} [1975] @320 (folk prog rock)
Truly pioneers in the world-music scene, Piirpauke fuse traditional Finnish folk forms with motifs and rhythms from Latin, Caribbean, Arabic, and Asian musical styles. Starting out in the mid-'70s, Piirpauke have remained insistently eclectic, and their range of influences can stretch to encompass Senegalese drumming and Andalucian singing on a single disk. ~ Leon Jackson, All Music Guide
